DIY Large Fabric Shopping Bag|Tote & Shoulder Bag in One!

This DIY fabric shopping bag is both spacious and stylish, perfect for grocery runs or daily use.

The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 
46㎝(18⅛″) W × 43㎝(17″) H × 23㎝(9⅛″) D.

Let's get started!!

◆ Main panel
②  25㎝ × 44㎝ (9⅞″ × 17½″) Outer layer
◆ Side panel
②  25㎝ × 39㎝ (9⅞″ × 15½″) Outer layer
◆ Bottom panel
①  25㎝ × 35㎝ (9⅞″ × 13¾″) Outer layer
◆ Main Lining
②  48㎝ × 8㎝ (19″ × 3¼″) Outer layer
②  48㎝ × 53.5㎝ (19″ × 21⅛″) Lining
◆ Shoulder strap
②  60㎝ × 10㎝ (23¾″ × 4″) Outer layer
◆ Handle
②  30㎝ × 10㎝ (11⅞″ × 4″) Outer layer



Fold the handle pieces in half, wrong sides together to make a crease.
Then fold each edge in toward the middle and press.
Stitch along both long edges of the strap, 3㎜ (1/8″) from the edge.
Place the shoulder strap on the right side of the main panel and sew.
Place the handle on the right side of the side panel and sew.
Sew the bottom panel between the two side panels.


Place the right sides together of the main panel and bottom panel. and match the center. Sew with an allowance of about 1㎝(3/8″).


Sew the side of the side panel to the side of the main panel.


Sew the striped fabric on top of the lining fabric.
Place the right sides together of the 2 pieces of lining and sew with an allowance of about 1㎝(3/8″), leaving an opening.
Combine the seams so that a flat base is formed. Sew with an allowance of about 1㎝(3/8″). And cut out the seam allowance to complete the lining.
Turn the outer layer right side out and put it inside the lining.


Sew with an allowance of about 1㎝(3/8″).


Turn it right side out by pulling the fabric through the opening.
Topstitch all the way around of the top of the bag entrance. 


You are finished!!
