Fluffy Zipper Pouch Sewing Tutorial (No Pattern)

Fluffy Zipper Pouch Sewing Tutorial (No Pattern)

Here’s an easy, fast zipper pouch you can sew with no pattern—yet it finishes with a lovely 3D, structured shape.

I chose a thicker fabric to give it a warm, cozy feel in your hands and extra sturdiness for everyday use.
In the tutorial, I walk you through each step slowly, from cutting to installing the zipper and closing the seams.

It’s perfect for daily essentials and also makes a sweet handmade gift.

The finished measurements of this pouch are approximately
18㎝(7⅛″) W × 10㎝(4″) H × 8.5㎝(3⅜″) D.

Let's get started!!

◆ Main panel
①  35㎝ × 25㎝ (13¾″ × 9⅞″) Outer layer
①  35㎝ × 25㎝ (13¾″ × 9⅞″) Lining
◆ Others
②  14㎝ × 5㎝ (5⅝″ × 2″) Lining
①  25㎝(10″) Zipper
①  2㎝(3/4″) Wide Webbing Strap 12㎝(4¾″)

Today we will use the rectangle fabric as is.

With assembled lining right side up, center zipper right side facing up along top edge.
Place the outer layer, right side down on top. Pin in place.
Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 1㎝(3/8″) seam allowance.

Seperate the zipper.
Attach the outer and lining to the other side of the zip the same way.

Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 3㎜ (1/8″) away from the zipper.

Add zipper pull.
Divide the webbing strap in half and fold them.
Place and sew the strap on the both sides of the zipper.

Turn it inside out.
Fold it so that the zipper is on top.
Stitch lightly at points 7.5㎝(3″) down from each end of the zipper.

Place the zipper end, the 7.5 point, and the bottom together and sew with a 1㎝(3/8″) seam allowance.

Place the lining pieces at both ends of the pouch and sew them to enclose the seam allowances.

Open the zipper and turn it right side out.
You are finished!!!

Happy sewing!
